BTP-2002CP POS Printers

 USB Driver Installation Guide


Introduction

This guide is intended to explain the methods of installing the USB driver for the  BTP-2002CP series POS printer into a PC/host to enable the communication between the printer and the host via a USB port.

USB Driver Installation Guide for Windows 98


1. Install USB Printing Support

If this component has already been installed in your PC, go to section 2 'Install Printer Driver'.

1) Close all the applications on the PC.

2) Connect the printer to the PC through a USB cable supplied with the BTP-2002CP package. The Windows system will find a new hardware and the Add New Hardware Wizard will launch.  To continue, click Next. 

 

 

3) Place the CD-ROM supplied in the BTP-2002CP package into the PC's CD-ROM device (Assumed as F disk below). Select 'Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)' and click Next.

4) Specify the location for the USB Printing Support (F:\Driver\Win98\usbsupport).

 

5) The wizard will find the driver for the USB Printing Support through the given path. Click Next to install this component.

6) The USB printing support driver will be installed. To continue, click Finish.

2. Install Printer Driver

7) The Add New Hardware Wizard shall then find another new device. Click Next  to start installing USB driver for the printer.

7) On the next window, select 'Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended).' and click Next to continue.

8) Select 'Specify a location'  and specify the location for the Printer Driver (F:\Driver\Win98). Click Next to continue.

9) The printer driver will then be found through the selected path. Click Next to install the Printer Driver.

10) Type a printer name (the default value is recommended)  and click Next to continue.

11) Select 'No'  and click Finish to complete the installation.

USB Driver Installation Guide for Windows 2000


The USB Printing Support component already exists in Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Therefore, there is no need to  install it.

1) Close all the applications on the PC.

2) Connect the printer to the PC through a USB cable supplied with the BTP-2002CP package. The Windows system will find a new hardware and the Found New Hardware Wizard will launch.  To continue, click Next. 

2) Place the CD-ROM supplied in the BTP-2002CP package into the PC's CD-ROM device (Assumed as F disk below). Select 'Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended).' and click Next to continue.

3) Select  'Specify a location' and click Next to continue.

4) Specify the location for the Printer Driver (F:\Driver\Win2000_xp) and click Browse to search the driver.

5) Wizard will find the Printer Driver through the given path. Click Next  to install the Printer Driver.

6) Click  Yes to continue.

7) Click Finish to complete the installation.

USB Driver Installation Guide for Windows XP


The USB Printing Support component already exists in Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Therefore, there is no need to  install it.

1) Close all the applications on the PC.

2) Connect the printer to the PC through a USB cable supplied with the BTP-2002CP package. The Windows system will find that a new hardware is connected and the Found New Hardware Wizard will launch.  Select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced).' and click Next to continue. 

2) Place the CD-ROM supplied in the BTP-2002CP package into the PC's CD-ROM device (Assumed as F disk below). Select 'Search for the best driver in these locations.' and 'include this location in the search'. Then specify the location for the Printer Driver ( F:\Driver\Win2000_xp) and click Browse to continue.

3) The Wizard will find the printer driver through the given path. Click on Continue Anyway to install the Printer Driver. 

4) Click Finish to complete the installation.
